The good news is that finally after three weeks of rain and wind on Ben and my days's off Sun and Mon were absolutely beautiful! So great in fact that we had so many plans we couldn't decide which to do. We had decided that we would go into Ahuriri again and this time do the hike up to Top Dingle Hut....3 hrs and a bit of climbing but the good news is that there would probably be a lesser amount of sandflies.
Morning came,the alarm sounded there were sprinkles of rain...and Ben didn't want to get up. So mission aborted.
Plan B- go out to hosiptal flat climbing. We went...and we had fun. I managed to regain some climbing confidence and do a but of leading again...as I had stopped and was just top-ropin again because of my fears! It all worked out in the end...we climbed a few new routes all just nice easy ones...to get back into again.
We finished the hot weekend off with a bbq down at Beacon Point...we used our $20 bbq cooked some steaks and had Cesar salad.....all the time wonderin what the poor people were doing.
That's all....have some photos soon. Oh..and we aborted Plan C as well to climb Mt. Roy and spend the night up there...Beers on the & Bar patio with 30degrees outside seemed like a nicer alternative to climbing for 3hrs..and sweating ect.
On a totally different note....there are all sorts of amazing things happening back in Canada. My good friend Sigurlin is about to have her first baby anyday now...(Hope u are doing good....can't wait to hear the news!) & also congrats to Anna & Geoff....as they are also going to be bringin' another life into the world this winter! Ah...we really are getting old.
